BALLET PACIFICA'S "THE NUTCRACKER"
OPENING NIGHT POST-PERFORMANCE VIP RECEPTION HOSTED BY DEUTSCHE BANK
NUTCRACKER PERFORMANCES
AT THE IRVINE BARCLAY THEATER

IRVINE – DECEMBER 9, 2006 –
Ballet Pacifica launched its 40th season of The Nutcracker
and 13th year at the Irvine Barclay Theater, on December 9th.
Following the Opening Night performance, Deutsche Bank hosted an
exclusive VIP post-performance reception backstage at the Irvine Barclay
Theater for key guests and donors.

between arts organizations in the community and uniting global and local
artists in order to create a thriving Art Community in Orange County,”
stated Michael Davis, Head of Western Region of Deutsche Bank’s U.S.
Private Bank, and newly appointed President of the Board of Ballet
Pacifica. “Over the years, Deutsche Bank has shown a devotion to ensure
that both global and local arts organizations receive the support they
need, in order to assist in the development of emerging artists,” he
continued.
At the elegant VIP post-performance
reception, key guests and donors were invited backstage to enjoy
champagne and desert and to mingle with the production’s dancers.
Joining in the evening’s Opening Night celebration, Guest Artists Yuan
Yuan Tan and Damian Smith made special appearances, along with Artistic
Director, Evelyn Cisneros-Legate, and Choreographer, David Allan.
Starting December 9th,
Ballet Pacifica will present 21 performances of its new production of
The Nutcracker for 2006. The new costumes and sets for this year’s
Nutcracker, designed by Simon Pastukh and Galina Solovyeva, were
recently acquired from Ballet Internationale.
Guest artists will join the
production of The Nutcracker for selected performances. San Francisco
Ballet principal dancers Yuan Yuan Tan and Damian Smith are scheduled to
perform on December 9th at 7:00 pm and December 10th
at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Boston Ballet principal dancers,
Larissa Ponomarenko and Reyneris
Reyes, are scheduled to dance December 22nd and 23rd
at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm both days.
Ballet Pacifica’s 2006
production of The Nutcracker was underwritten in part by Deutsche Bank,
Taco Bell, Morrison and Foerster LLP, Ware Malcomb, and the Bascom
Group.

dedicated to being the major resource for professional ballet in Orange
County. The company was founded as an educational arts organization in
1962 and is now most well known throughout Southern California for its
annual production of The Nutcracker. Since 1967, this family Christmas
